What is a CANS assessment?
The CANS assessment, or Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessment, determines a youth's eligibility and tier for services. This needs to be completed before Behavioral Health Respite is authorized.

OhioRISE is not managed by Ohio's DODD; it is managed by the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and a partnership with Aetna. You can still qualify for OhioRISE;
Many Medicaid recipients who have these waivers will also quality for the OhioRISE waiver and the Behavioral Health Respite service. Behavioral Health Respite can only be provided through the OhioRISE waiver.
